What Sets Her Apart
Dr. Angela uses an all-inclusive approach which gives her the ability to discern her audience. She brings revelatory insight and compassionate responsiveness to the forefront. She integrates TRUTH with research and the power of wisdom and over twenty years of experience to make a vital impact.
Early Years and Education
Dr. Angela, has spent over twenty years in the field of education and nearly 20 years in ministry. She is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn, New York. In the third grade she accomplished her first academic D along with additional academic struggles. Shortly thereafter, the principal summoned her mother to explain that Angela would probably never graduate high school. Following a series of middle school bouts of not-good behaviors, she found interest in design and graduated from a magnet high school with honors in architecture.
She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University; her Master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education from Hofstra University and her Doctorate degree in Urban Education and Staff Development with a concentration in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Angela began to realize that her struggles in elementary and middle school may have been attributed to what she calls her personal learning style distinction which was never detected.
Involvement in Ministry
Following her international work with her South African Sister Schools and You initiative in Soweto, she became increasingly interested in the enhancement of the human spirit and later received a doctoral degree in theology. She has been noted for writing curriculum, conducting seminars, and teaching at schools of learning for ministers with an emphasis in effective leadership and re-defining the uniqueness of one’s destiny with what she calls ‘the awesome un-duplicated you’. Some of her greatest works include leveraging her pioneering vision into Word Theater- a theatrical medium to bring Truth Telling through compelling teaching monologues and to empower the procrastinating soul into extraordinary agents of change. She has captivated audiences within the United States and internationally in destinations such as South Africa, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Tobago, and prestigious platforms such as the Queens Hall in Trinidad with her bodacious messages that provoke the re-capturing of living life and hope regained until forward momentum and hidden courage kindles within the awakened passion of men and women.
Dr. Angela is a Shepherdess and revelatory teacher for ministerial leaders. She has been called the female James Earl Jones of ‘distinctive voice’ through her impelling album, My Healer. Her voice, heart and spiritual influence penetrates the human soul and ignites inner peace.
GiRL Work
Her most dear to her heart girl work is iMPACT GiRLS, an ‘afterschool not afterstreets’ initiative for disadvantaged elementary school girls. From the modeling academy, to the impact girls magazine, the performing arts gala at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts, to the dress up gala at the Signature Grand, to the Culinary Arts program, Adopt-a-Girl Mentoring project, volunteers from CITRIX and Girls STEM at Broward College, iMPACT GiRLS reminds Dr. Angela that little girls who get D’s can succeed, and succeed kinda-well.
Dr. Angela attributes every good thing in her life to the renewal in the spirit of her mind, thank ‘full’ ness in all things, a lot of okay bumps in the road, loving and compassionate parental support and to The Most High Elohim of whom she absolutely adores.
A decision is a conclusion. A judgment reached. Therefore, every conclusion which is based upon your purposed mission in life is a more highly esteemed judgment than arriving at conclusions based on your present circumstances.-Dr. Angela
Dr. Angela's S.A.S.S.Y. (South African Sister Schools and You) initiative launched an international campaign and a ten day stint for Dr. Angela and her team in Soweto, South Africa to create a library and computer lab for a school of five hundred students. Her ingenuity earned her acclaim on Johannesburg television news networks.
Dr. Angela has been called the female James Earl Jones of ‘distinctive voice.’ Through her impelling album, My Healer, her voice, her declarations and affirmations, her heart and spiritual influence penetrates the human soul and ignites inner peace.
Dr. Angela was nominated for her distinctive community work with iMPACT GiRLS. Dr. Angela took full advantage of using interactive initiatives to empower girls to change their lives in ways that girls love and embrace.
The stirring change from within girls was accomplished by allowing self- expression by girls which impact their lives and their community of home and school in which girls live, grow and thrive. One of the goals of iMPACT GiRLS is to re-seed positive outlooks for girls, their self-value, self-expression, their relationships and their ability to make positive choices that could affect them at any time and at any moment. iMPACT GiRLS addresses the 'necessaries' of girls lives and to alter their responses that ultimately impact their behaviors and their destinies.
